About Me

I love the mountains.

The beach is lovely, of course, and big cities are fun to explore.

But my soul thrives in the mountains.

That’s why, in spite of the fact that I am a lifelong Texan, my Callie Cassidy mysteries are set in Colorado. The Rocky Mountains have been a vacation destination for my family since I was a child, and I have often dreamed of living there. Now, through my characters, I can transport myself to the mountains every day.

In the real world, I live in a Dallas high rise with my husband of thirty-nine years. We have two wonderful grown daughters, two great sons-in-law, a seven-year-old grandson who delights and entertains us, a three-year-old granddaughter who keeps us laughing, and two fiesty one-year-old granddaughters who were born within three weeks of each other.

I am a retired journalism teacher and professional school counselor who now writes mysteries. My books have earned a Silver Falchion Best Cozy Mystery Award, a Silver Falchion second runner-up award for Best Book of 2021, and CIBA Mystery & Mayhem first-place awards.

I serve as Board Secretary for Sisters in Crime and am a member of Mystery Writers of America, as well as the SinC North Dallas chapter and the Guppy chapter, where I moderate the Cozy Gup group.

I’d love to hear from you. Click on my contact page to send me an email.
